The Regency Ballroom — know before you go

Is The Regency Ballroom wheelchair accessible (ADA access)?+

The accessible entrance is at 1270 Sutter St, where a wheelchair lift is available (the main Van Ness entrance has stairs). An elevator reaches all floors except the VIP Mezzanine, which has steps and is not wheelchair-accessible. Accessible restroom stalls are on the main level, in the Social Hall, and in the Lodge; ADA seating is generally on the floor about halfway back, house-left. Buy accessible tickets via AXS or call 1-888-929-7849. For a sign-language interpreter, email theregencyballroominfo@goldenvoice.com at least two weeks ahead. (An older third-party listing described stairs-only entry, so confirm step-free access directly if in doubt.)

Does The Regency Ballroom have seating, or is it standing room?+

The main floor is GA standing with gentle tiers that improve sightlines. A wraparound horseshoe balcony on the upper level offers reserved/assigned seating at many shows. To get a balcony seat, buy a reserved balcony/seated ticket for that event via AXS; otherwise the floor is standing GA.

Is The Regency Ballroom all ages?+

Most shows are all ages, but some are 18+ or 21+. Age-restricted shows require valid government photo ID (no school or expired IDs). Kids under 5 need ear protection (rental headphones available).

What time do shows start and end at The Regency Ballroom?+

Doors typically open about one hour before showtime (varies). Exact door and set times are on each event's AXS/calendar page; the venue doesn't publish standard headliner or end times.

Can I avoid ticket fees at the The Regency Ballroom box office?+

The box office opens with doors on show nights at 1300 Van Ness. In-person purchases carry a $4/ticket service fee — less than typical online fees but not fee-free. Tickets are also sold at the Warfield box office on show nights.

What are the bar, drink, and re-entry policies at The Regency Ballroom?+

Full bar (the venue has advertised '$8 drink deals all night'). No re-entry once your ticket is scanned, except the smoking section. Coat check is $5 per item upstairs off the rotunda (backpacks must be checked); earplugs are $1.

Where can I park near The Regency Ballroom, and how do I get there?+

No dedicated lot; use nearby garages such as ABC Parking (1399 Polk), Golden Gateway Garage (1500 Van Ness), and Sutter Street Garage (1101 Sutter), plus limited street parking. The 47 and 49 Muni buses stop right outside (the 49 runs the Van Ness BRT corridor); Civic Center BART is about a 10-minute walk.

Are there VIP or premium seating options at The Regency Ballroom?+

Premium options vary by event — a VIP Mezzanine/balcony area and VIP boxes on the upper level are offered for some shows, with reserved balcony seating at many events via AXS. Note the VIP Mezzanine is not wheelchair-accessible.
